The sailboat specifications, performance data, and associated content available on this Site constitute a proprietary database compiled, independently verified, and continuously enriched by SailCalculator. This database represents substantial investment of time, resources, and original effort and is protected as a compilation under United States copyright law and applicable database protection laws.
Ownership of this database and all derived works remains exclusively with SailCalculator. No license to copy, redistribute, or commercialize this data is granted by your use of the Site.
3. Scraping & Automated Access — Strictly Prohibited
Automated access to, scraping, crawling, data extraction, harvesting, or reproduction of this Site or its database — in whole or in part — is strictly prohibited without prior written authorization from SailCalculator. This prohibition applies to:
- Web scrapers, crawlers, spiders, bots, or automated scripts of any kind
- Bulk downloading or systematic retrieval of boat specifications or performance data
- Mirroring, caching, or republishing Site content on other platforms
- Using our data to train, fine-tune, or evaluate artificial intelligence or machine learning models
- Circumventing rate limits, access controls, or other technical measures
- Using our data to build competing products or services without a commercial license
Violations may result in immediate access termination, civil liability for damages, and any other remedies available at law or in equity.
4. Permitted Use
You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes — browsing boat specifications, using the calculator tools, tracking boats in The Hunt, and interacting with Knot AI. You may share individual boat pages via URL for informational purposes. Any other use requires our written consent.

6. User-Generated Content
By submitting content to the Site (photos, corrections, listings, hunt data), you grant SailCalculator a worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and incorporate that content into the Site and database. You represent that you have the right to submit any content you provide.
7. Accuracy Disclaimer
Boat specifications and performance data are provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranty regarding completeness or fitness for any particular purpose. Always verify specifications independently before making purchasing decisions. Never rely solely on calculated performance ratios for safety-critical decisions.
8. Privacy
We collect account information (email address) and usage data to operate the Site. We do not sell personal data to third parties. Auth is handled via Supabase. By using the Site you consent to this data collection.
9. Limitation of Liability
SailCalculator is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SailCalculator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Nueces County, Texas.
